Cake Smash information and pricing guide

Thank you for enquiring with Moments to Memories to capture special moments of your loved ones. This guide aims to provide you with detailed information on the different types of cake smash sessions offered and associated pricing so you can make an informed decision. I know you had unlimited options when it came to choosing a photographer suited to your needs, so it means the world to me that you considered Moments to Memories to document one of the most important times in your lives.

Cake Smash sessions are held just before your baby is 1 year old. Cake Smash sessions can be held either in studio or at a location of your choice. You can also choose a theme or a colour to base your session around.

Deposit

To secure your session with Moments to Memories, a $150.00 deposit is due upon booking. Your deposit secures the date and time you have chosen so no one else can book that time.

Your deposit amount will come off the total amount of your digital collection package.

My Studio

When I launched Moments to Memories I knew it was going to be essential to have the perfect space to host my newborn & cake smash sessions. A place where mums and dads could come with their little love and feel comfortable and safe. A place that has everything we need to make the day as efficient as possible. My studio has a comfortable lounge and a change matt to make mums and dads life a lot easier.

Styling your session

I have a heap of headbands and props that can be used in your session. If you are wanting a theme that I do not have the props for you are more than welcome to supply your own.

Planning for your cake smash session

SCHEDULING

I typically book out anywhere between 1-3 months in advance. It is highly recommended to book your cake smash session before your little one is ONE. This guarantees your session when your little one is about to have their birthday.

PAYMENT

A deposit is due upon booking your session. Your chosen digital collection package is due the week before your session. You’ll receive an invoice for both payments. Additional digital images can be ordered and paid for after your session date.

WHAT TO BRING

1. An outfit for your little one to wear
2. Any props you would like to use
3. Balloons If you want them in your session
4. A towel
5. Spare clothes (sometimes both mum & Bub need spare clothes after this session)

Preparing for your cake smash session

BEFORE YOUR SESSION

Sessions are in the morning if they are in studio (exact time to be confirmed) or they can be held outdoors. Try and let your little love have a sleep before hand so they are happy to get messy and get into the cake.

DURING YOUR SESSION

Once you arrive, you can dress your little one in their outfit while I set the room if it isn’t already set up. If you chose the sitter package aswell we will go straight into that, then get messy with the cake followed by the little bath to finish the session off.

AFTER YOUR SESSION

1-2 edited sneak peek photos from your session will be posted on my social media or sent to you by the end of the day. After 1-2 weeks, you will get to choose your favourite images from an online gallery that is protected for your eyes only (and other family members if you wish). Photos in this gallery are raw and unedited. If you wish to upgrade your collection to include extra images, this is your opportunity to do so.

Once you are happy with your choices I will then spend the next 2 weeks editing and putting the finishing touches on your images. This includes exposure edits, colour edits and skin retouching etc. Your finished gallery will then be ready for digital download. The whole process usually takes between 2-4 weeks which can fluctuate depending on how busy my schedule is.

If you have chosen the largest collection which includes an album this will be put together after your photos are finished being edited. This album can then take a couple of weeks to arrive to me.
